Fresh Produce! September 25, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — sandra @ 3:50 pm

I received a shipment from my produce co-op this week.  I have a pickup every other week.  The cost is $25, so 12.50 a week.  I think it’s a great deal for $25, what do you think?

9 Rome apples

4 tomatoes

3 stalks celery

2 large heads romaine

5 large onions

1 spaghetti squash….I’ve never fixed one of these before!  Anyone have any great (and easy!) recipes?!

1 head cauliflower

2 bags carrots

about 10 bananas

5 green bell peppers

a BUNCH of plums

about 7 cucumbers

a bunch of sweet potatoes

  1. Tia Robertson Says:

Spaghetti squash is really simple. In our family, we slice it in half, scoop out the seeds and ‘sloppy stuff’, and then spray it with a non-stick spray. Place it face down on a cookie sheet or stoneware, and bake at 350 for about an hour, or until the skin looks a little wrinkled. Remove, and serve with butter, and your choice of toppings (my husband likes honey, the rest of the family opts for brown sugar).
