Homemade Croutons February 25, 2010

I am thinking about attempting to make homemade croutons in the next couple of days.  Have any of you ever had success at doing this?  I have lots of end pieces of bread loaves that I was thinking about using.  Do you have a recipe that you could share with me?

  1. I’ve tried a few different ways and my favorite is to take bread, spread butter on it, put on some garlic powder and parmesian cheese (optional) and cut into squares. Put on cookie tray in oven or toaster oven at about 300 degrees. After about 10 minutes, flip the bread. Just keep an eye on them so they don’t burn. They come out so delicious, like hard crunch pieces of garlic bread – perfect in salad!
